Justina Martinez LMSW

Justina Martinez is a licensed social worker who completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work at New Mexico Highlands University with a Clinical concentration. She has several years working in various social work realms and engaging in various social justice platforms. Her background includes experience as a Case Manager, Outreach worker and she has a passion for working with people and families who are experiencing homelessness, substance abuse and working with women and youth.

Justina comes from the Pueblos of Acoma (Haaku) and Taos (Red Willow) and Crow Nation (Apsaalooke), she values her connection and commitment to her homelands and her indigenous culture and way of life. Her desire to enter the social work profession began with her willingness to learn and gain skills and become an instrument of change and support for all people, which are rooted in her beliefs and values of compassion and helpfulness which were instilled by her grandparents and family.

Justina is a strength based clinician who takes a trauma informed approach and enjoys working with clients in discovering a new way of being and finding their inherent resiliency. She believes in building a working alliance with her clients to find hope and happiness and discover ways in which recovery and wellness are possible.
