Vannassa Thompson

I am a UNM intern from the Basics in Addiction Counseling Program. I graduated from CNM with my Associates in Psychology, now I am attending UNM to get my Bachelor’s in Psychology with a Concentration in Basics in Addiction Counseling. My goals while interning at Perfectly Imperfect are to develop my professional identity as a counselor and learn how to facilitate different types of groups. A future goal I have is to do substance abuse counseling full time. I choose to go this route because I have seen what many different substances can do to a person, their families, and their relationships. I want to help people with substance abuse problems move forward and create a better life for themselves, as well as the people in their life. I am more than thrilled to be interning at Perfectly Imperfect.

Nayely Robles

I am a UNM intern and I am majoring in both Spanish and Psychology with a concentration in the Basics in addiction counseling (BAC). My goals here at perfectly include to learn and absorb as much as I can. Another goal is to find and identify who and how I want to be as a counselor.  Also, to start to facilitate groups with the knowledge I gain. My overarching goal is to become a substance abuse counselor. I have chosen this line of work because I have seen the impact that substances can have on someone’s life and everyone around them and I truly have a passion for trying to help and providing people with whatever they need to improve themselves.
